Mother/Daughter Therapy
“Healing can only happen when people are willing to shift” -Iyanla Vanzant
Unhealed issues don’t disappear with time, in fact, they often show up in your relationships and are pushed into your children, your health and your well-being.
Mother/Daughter relationships can be very complex. While we long for this close, loving relationship with our daughters, this is not always the case. Girls need and want a close relationship with their mothers, as long as they are respected for the individual they are becoming. Maturity requires teenage girls to discover who they are as it relates to those around them-this includes MOM. Autonomy and connection is often difficult for teenage girls to process and for mothers of teenagers to understand.
In Family therapy, we can explore the mother/teenage daughter dynamic and work together to help bridge these gaps that are causing some dysfunction within the relationship.
Raising daughters is no easy task! As a mother of 3 girls-I understand how challenging this can be. Let me help you navigate this new and flourishing relationship, with great understanding and communication-you can have the mother/daughter relationship you’ve always imagined!
