About H.E.R
A Message from the Founder
Welcome! My name is Charisma. I am a social work entrepreneur, educator, advocate, mother, wife, sister, and friend. Raised by a single mother in an underserved community and understanding first-hand the challenges that Black women face, I created a therapy practice with women like myself in mind. We are conditioned to not ask for help. We do things ourselves because we have this innate desire to be “strong”. Well, I don’t know about you, but I no longer want to be “strong”, I’ll settle with being happy, healthy and healed.
If you are ready to reclaim your happiness, then you are in the right place! I am passionate about ending the stigma associated with mental health; especially with people of color. I specialize in helping teen girls and women of color address mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, women's issues, self-esteem, and trauma. I use a variety of evidence based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered and Strength-Based therapy, but will work with you to create a tailored approach based on your individual need.
